A Family On the Move

I did a photo session for some friends of mine last weekend. They will be moving to Washington DC in a few weeks so they were definitely excited to get some family photos taken at one of their favorite spots! Most weekends the family takes their jet ski out at this lake, so I thought it was a wonderful place to take their pictures!

Some of my favorites:

It was a challenge to get M to smile! He was too interested in all the rocks, sticks and water!

They loved walking down the old railroad tracks!

Ah, there are the smiles =) I LOVED Sarah's orange dress! Bold colors look GREAT in photos!

Fix It Friday #64

WOW, what a beautiful picture we have the opportunity to edit this week over at I Heart Faces!

Before:

After:

I love those sharp, blue eyes! I began editing in ACR: increasing the temperature +4, contrast +14, vibrance +12 and exposure +.10

Then to PSE 7 where I used the lasso tool to highlight the eyes and increase their contrast and color saturation. Then I re-lasso'd the eyes and used the unsharp mask. It created a beautiful pop! Then I flattened the layers and used a photo filter to warm up the photo and then I created a vignette around the edge.

Fix It Saturday

Where was I yesterday?!?! Somehow I missed the Fix-It-Friday over at I Heart Faces. Thank goodness I remembered, since this week's photo is so adorable. It reminds me of living here, in Oklahoma.

I was so excited with I saw this photo because I knew it would work perfectly with my new Florabella Luxe actions.

After slight adjustments in ACR (decrease exposure, increase contrast, blacks and vibrance) I went over to PSE 7 where I increased the saturation and contrast again before running Florabella Luxe Action in Pandora. LOVE IT! Sharpening with High Pass filter. Finished =)

Before/After Blog Hop

For this weeks Pixel Perfect Before/After Blog Hop, I was taking pictures of my son in our backyard. I was really trying to focus on getting crisp, clear eyes. I like how this picture looked so I did 2 edits.

Color Edit:

In ACR I increased the exposure, contrast and vibrance.
Then into PSE 7. I tried a different way of editing those baby blue eyes. I used the lasso tool to select his eyes. Then I increased the brightness (slightly) and the saturation until I liked the look. Then I increased the contrast of the entire picture and sharpened using the high pass filter.


Dramatic B&W edit:

I took the color edited picture and ran my favorite, Florabella B&W Vanilla action. I played with the layer masks until I was happy. LOVE IT!

9 Months Old

I recently did a photo session for 2 friends of mine who both have 9-month-old babies. So with my son also included, we were wrangling 3 nine-month-olds! It was fun but quite a challenge!

Then over to PSE 7 where I cropped the image and ran the Coffeeshop Glamour Glow action then Florabella Vintage Chocolate. I hope you like the results as much as I do!

Edit 1:

I used ACR to in crease the temperature +4, Exposure +.30, Blacks +3, Contrast +15 and Vibrance +10. Then into PSE 7, where I cropped it slightly and ran Coffeeshop Little Perk!

Edit 2:

Same as Edit 1 and then added the Coffeeshop action: Soft Autumn Glow.

Edit 3:

Same as edit 1 but then converted to B&W with one of my actions (don't remember which one, sorry!)

Pixel Perfect Blog Hop

This week's photo was taken on our vacation in Oklahoma City. I was sick ALL weekend, but happened to capture her in the hotel window.

I played around with this one for quite some time. I started in ACR making minor adjustments. Then to PSE 7, crop, dodging, a photo filter to add warmth then Florabella Action B&W Vanilla.
