Pixel Perfect Before & After

We finally had a really nice day here in SW Oklahoma. The kids and I were outside and I was itching for some nice new pictures!

I have quite a few cute ones, but this one of my daughter really spoke to me. I just knew it had to be turned into a B&W.

I cloned out a few minor belmishes in her hair then ran MCP's Eye Doctor and Florabella's B&W Vanilla.

My Poor Little Man

We always seem to be quite busy around here. But yesterday, we had a little unexpected surprise........




My little man fell at Mom's Day Out and had to go get his first x-rays! Thankfully, nothing was broken and he just has a sprain. But doesn't he look so darn cute with that bandage on his little arm!?!?

For the Love of Pictures: Photography 101 Workshop!

About 6 weeks ago I hosted my very first photography workshop! I was so excited to combine my teaching experience and love of photography! (I was a middle school teacher before having my children =) I had 7 wonderful ladies attend the 3 hour workshop. We spent the first 2 hours learning the basic concepts of photography (ISO, Aperture & Shutter Speed) and the basic setting on our DSLR cameras. The last hour was spent outside practicing our new skills! The packets of information they all received and were able to take home =) Workshop review, model release and gift card that were also in the workshop folders. Figuring out those cameras!!! Learning and taking notes. Our outside photoshoot. Can you tell is was cold?! The ladies did a wonderful job and left with a wealth of new photography information and were only a little bit overwhelmed ;) A HUGE thank you goes out to everyone who attended and gave me some wonderful feedback. Because of this I have been inspired to create a Photoshop 101 workshop for them this fall! In addition to that I will be hosting another Photography 101 workshop (hopefully in June) as well as a "How to Take a Better Photo" workshop for those just looking to improve the picture taking skills regardless of what type of camera they have. This will be offered this May!!! I'm so happy and blessed to share all this wonderful photography knowledge with some amazing people! I Heart Faces: Wind

I Heart Faces: Shadows

To go along with my attempt of getting back in the shooting & blogging groove, I have a great photo for I Heart Faces weekly challenge! Shadows! This is a photo of my daughter on her first big bike ride! She LOVED it! Of course her little purse had to come too ;) It will be so nice to have her biking along while I push her little brother in the stroller =)

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

I always love Ashley's Scavenger Hunt Sunday, but don't always get around to taking pics of each prompt. I'm happy to say that I made it a special point to photograph eveything this week! Motion: I love the motion of my daughter's hair. In Fashion: For the first time, ever, my daughter put clips in her hair!

Waiting to Click: I was waiting for a smile...but I like this just fine =) Animals Perspective: I wanted to get a photo "over the dogs shoulder" but everytime I got close them they woke up and started licking me....so I had to settle for a photo of them on their level. Many: Oh yes, we have many!!!

Pixel Perfect Blog Hop

This week's picture is of my daughter. For years (3 to be exact ;) I've been trying to get her to allow clips or bows in her hair. This was the first clip she ever let stay! So, of course I HAD to take a picture!

SOOC:

Terrible white balance, yuck!

After:

I cropped and changed the white balance, but I still wanted to accentuate the flower clip. So I turned it into B&W. Definitely a keeper for me!
