Pixel Perfect Blog Hop

I think I'm finally back in the posting groove =) So this week I used an image of my kids and their new Jeep! We got it from the Ranch where my daughter is riding horses.

I did the basic edits in ACR then moved the pic over to PSE 7 and ran the Florabella Luxe II action Vivid Color and painted it on just the Jeep and kid's clothes. Then I wanted to do something different. I'm not usually a texture person, but I thought I'd give it a try! I added a Florabella texture and set the blending mode to Overlay then erased it at 65% from the kids. Then a quick vignette. Ta da!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Quarterly Top 5 Photos

I came across this a few weeks ago and enjoyed going through my photos from the first 3 month (can you believe it's April already!?!?!?) to find my TOP 5 PHOTOS OF MY KIDS. Thankfully, I organize my photos by month so it was realtively easy to see all the pics I took. But, much harder to just choose my favorite 5!

Here they are in random order:

My daughter and husband in a candid, loving moment. =)

Probably one of my favorite photos of my daughter ever.

My son in his first snow experience.

My daughter. Such a quirky expression and wearing her brother's hat. Love it in B&W where it accentuates her eyelashes!

Oye, those eyes. Not much else to say.

Kicking It Up With A Little Class

I'm taking another step forward with my business. Making things a little more 'classy.' ;)
I read a lot about starting your own business, marketing, etc. Everyone talks about branding. Specifically, building your own brand. (Who are you, what's your style, etc.) Over the past year I've been thinking about this and what I want people to see with Michelle Travis Photography. Obviously, a child & family photographer. (I've been asked about weddings and events....sorry, not really my thing. Thanks for asking, but I'll try and be the best at what do and not do everything!)

Okay, getting back on track.

All the thinking about branding led me to my favorite color. The color I've chosen to use A LOT. Blue. But not just any blue, aqua blue! I LOVE it and have chosen to use it all over my business.

Besides all of that color stuff I have settled on a fun font I like for my watermark, business materials, etc.

I've also finally bit the bullet and come up with some marketing and packaging materials. They all arrived recently and I LOVE THEM! Literally the day they all arrived I did a few mini photo shoots for these pictures ;)

The most amazing thing about this company is that you can choose up to 50 different images to have printed seperately onto your business cards! Amazing, and they are so thick!

It was so fun to open up my packages and find them so nicely wrapped and professionally presented...

I'm so excited about using all these new products. The business cards have been a HUGE hit and I'm already about 1/3 out ;) I've also used my bags for a few print orders I've received since starting the website with shopping cart feature. Let me just say......professional prints are simply stunning.

Thanks for checking out my new stuff! Let me know what you think and if you've used these companies before or know of any other great companies that I should check out!

Have a great day =)

MCP's Mini Fusion. This was the first time I had used this "mini" action. I liked it, but definitely need to play with it some more and understand it better =)

Have a great day!I won't be participating next week, as I'll be on vacation (by myself) to a friend's wedding in Florida! Woo Hoo!

52 Week Project: Week 8

The theme for week 8 was: "The View From Here." Immediately I thought of going outside. Unfortunately, we didn't have too many nice days. As soon as a 70 degree day arrived we ran outside to play!!!

After school, our next door neighbors came over to play!

I love how good the girls next door are with my 2 kiddos. It's truly like having big sisters for them!!! There's not much better than looking out my front door and seeing a bunch of happy kids playing outside, learning and having fun!!! It makes my heart happy =)

Next week's theme is: "Express Yourself!"
