Fix It Friday #76

What an adorable photo we have to edit today! I really like how it is already, nothing to "fix." That just leaves having FUN with it!

SOOC:

Edit 1:

Increase contrast and vibrance in ACR. Then I ran Coffeeshops Little Perk action.

Edit 2:

Same ACR edits but I ran Coffeeshops Joanna's Memories of Sunshine action and then added a light sunflare.

Edit 3:

Same ACR edits and then I ran the Autumn Air action along with a brown solid color overlay that I adjusted until I was happy. =)

Pixel Perfect Blog Hop

I was in the mood for a good B&W today. So I looked back in my archives and found this picture of my daughter from June.

B&W Edit:

In ACR I increased the temperature to give it a bit more warmth and also increased the blacks, contrast and vibrance. Then in PSE 7 I cropped the photo to change the composition and ran the Florabella B&W action in Platinum. I like it!!!

Simplicity Photo Challenge

Faith over at Simplicity is having her weekly photo challenge and the theme this week is: Portrait. I thought it was great that she explained that a portrait is very different than a snapshot. Here is the definition from wikipedia to help explain: Portrait "...a composed image of a person in a still position. A portrait often shows a person looking directly at the painter or photographer, in order to most successfully engage the subject with the viewer."

From a family photo session this week. She is a beautiful 11 year-old, big sister to two little brothers. =) It was great that she got some pictures for herself too!

Beautiful Family On A Perfect Day

It was the perfect day for a family photo session. The weather was perfect and the light was just beautiful! And the location, ah the location...one of my absolute favorites! Enjoy Kelly, Stephen and Blake's family photo session!

Fix It Friday #74

Oh thank goodness it's Friday!!!

This week's photo for Fix It Friday over at I Heart Faces is an adorable photo of a little girl at a pumpkin patch. I can totally relate =)

SOOC:

My Edit:

I did the usual changes in ACR. Then in PSE 7 I cropped the photo a bit to get rid of some of the negative space on the right. Then I warmed up the photo with a warming filter. I also used the lasso tool to select the little girls face and then changed the hue of her skin tone. After that I ran CoffeeShop's Little Perk action and added a sun flare - just for fun!!

Workshops!!!

I am SO excited! Wait, let me say that again....

I AM SO EXCITED about the photography workshops that I will be attending in November!!!

First and foremost.....
I'm thrilled to say that I'll be one of only 12 ladies who are attending the 'Dream Big' Advanced Photography Workshop in Dallas. This workshop is sponsored by I Heart Faces. The two lovely co-founders, Angie and Amy are the hosts of this one-day, 10 hour class!

I can't wait to go. My hubby and kids will be going to Dallas with me so not only will I have an amazing day of Photography fun. The rest of the weekend is a family vacation!

Then a few weeks later, I'll be at a different workshop in Phoenix, AZ. To be honest, I'm not quite as excited for this one (as it's much less personal) but hey, a day full of photography is good enough for me! I'll be attending the Val Westover Photography Clinic. It's a 2-part session, with the morning be a classroom-learning type thing. Mostly photography basics....it's always good to get a refresher. Then in the afternoon we get to have a 2-hour photo session. I'm not sure of all the details on this one yet. But being back "home" it should be a great time!

I can't wait to tell you all about these 2 amazing days of PHOTOGRAPHY!
